The inception of Resimax Group: Where it all began

With roots dating back to the mid-1970s, Resimax Group has since grown rapidly to establish itself as one of Victoria’s largest dynamic and innovative property groups.

Having forged an unmatched reputation for delivering exceptional and affordable masterplanned communities in Victoria’s burgeoning growth corridors, the company is set to expand its already prolific footprint through a diverse pipeline of future projects.

As we look towards a period of exceptional growth, we reminisce on where the Resimax Group story first began.

Resimax Group’s Founder and Managing Director, Ozzie Kheir

The history of Resimax Group can be traced back to Founder and Managing Director Ozzie Kheir’s parents, Joseph and Mary Kheir. Driven by a strong entrepreneurial spirit and desire to support their growing family, the couple launched J & M Kheir Builders in 1973.

With tireless hard work and dedication, Joseph and Mary grew the small business to become a thriving builder of family homes in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Inspired by their parents’ success, Ozzie and his siblings each joined the family business along the way.

Ozzie soon discovered a natural aptitude for business, shortly thereafter investing in his first block of land and delivering a subdivision of 19 townhouses. This became the first of many and led to the formation of Ozzie’s first business, North Developments.

After delivering several townhouse developments across the northern corridor of Melbourne, he soon acquired his first large-scale land lot in the city’s booming western growth corridor. The resounding success of the subsequent Tarneit development ultimately led to the formation of Resimax Group in 2010.

In the years since, Ozzie has grown Resimax Group from a boutique sales and development enterprise to one of the largest privately-owned property development groups in Victoria, now employing more than 250 staff across its domestic and global offices.

J & M Kheir Builders was soon incorporated into the business, with Ozzie’s brother Victor Kheir taking the helm as Managing Director. It is just one of Resimax Group’s diversified property brands, which also includes Tick Homes and Leap Real Estate among others.

In recent years, Resimax Group has earned a reputation for specialising in masterplanned communities, including its flagship Eynesbury development in Melbourne’s west. Since acquiring the self-contained development in 2019, Resimax Group has embarked on a bold, one-of-a-kind transformation that will solidify Eynesbury as the place to be in the West.

With works currently underway for substantial infrastructure upgrades and plans for an integrated community precinct including a town centre, expanded educational offerings, luxury accommodation and a world-class day spa, Resimax Group’s vision will deliver a true destination for residents and tourists alike.

Resimax Group also boasts a slew of current and future projects across Victoria, working to deliver developments in suburbs such as Wallan, Beveridge, Mernda, South Morang, Wollert and Thornhill Park. With a robust project pipeline for 2025 and beyond, Resimax Group is set to support and trailblaze the growth of Victoria’s housing supply for years to come.
